The final round prize distribution ceremony of Website/Cell Phone
Based Malaysian Palm Oil Weekly Quiz Competition was held on Dec 13,
2009 at Pan pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka. The year-long quiz
competition was launched on Jan 24, 2009 and concluded on December
04, 2009. The quiz competition created huge response among the
younger generation of the country and during Jan-Dec period a total
number of 449,434 participants participated in the whole
competition. During the period from January 24 to December 04, 2009,
total 55 prize winners were awarded including 10 bumper prize
winners.
Observing the great response of the educated young consumers towards
MPO weekly quiz competition, Malaysian Palm Oil Council decided to
sponsor 2 winners to visit Malaysia to learn more about Malaysian
Palm oil Industry. For selecting the 2 lucky winners among all the
weekly and bumper prize winners, a raffle draw was held after the
prize distribution.
Hon’ble Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, Minister of Plantation Industries &
Commodities, Malaysia graced the final round prize distribution
ceremony as Chief Guest while the Special Guests were H.E.
Jamaluddin Sabeh, High Commissioner of Malaysia in Bangladesh, Dato’
Sabri Ahmad, Chairman of Malaysian Palm Oil Board, Dato’ Lee Yeow
Chor, Chairman of Malaysian Palm Oil Council, Datuk Dr. Mohd. Basri
Wahid, Director General of Malaysian Palm Oil Board and Tan Sri
Datuk Dr. Yusof Basiron, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Palm
Oil Council. Apart from the honourable guests, winners, some local
dignitaries and media representatives were present in the function.
