The TV Cooking Show under Project Code No. MMD-BG03/2011 named as
“Malaysian Palm Oil Best Chef 2011” was launched on May 05, 2011 in
a press conference held at the office of Channel I in
Dhaka.
It was informed in the press conference that Malaysian Palm Oil
Council is the Title Sponsor of the TV cooking competition while
Akash Vision Ltd. will organize and manage the programme and Channel
I will telecast the episodes. Co-sponsors of the programme are
Sajeeb Group, Hotel Ocean Paradise, Bashundhara Group, Westin Hotel
Dhaka, Monno Ceramics, Walton and Purobi Jewelers.
The competition is open to all Bangladeshi citizens above 18 years
of age. The interested persons may register their names for
participation in the competition by sending recipe alongwith one
copy of photograph, address, mobile phone number in an envelope
marked with “Malaysian Palm Oil Best Chef 2011” to the office of
Channel I. The first round of the competition will be held in 7
Divisional cities of the country. The selected participants of the 1st
round will compete in 2nd round from which 6 competitors
will be selected for final round in which TV viewers may send SMS
for wining of their favourite competitors. Gala round will be held
after SMS round. The last date for sending recipe is May 31, 2011.
The winner of the competition or the Best Chef will be awarded with
Taka 500,000.00 in cash, employment in Hotel Westin in the post of
chef, a jewelery set and one LCD TV set. 1st and 2nd
runners up will also be awarded with attractive prizes.
The press conference was well attended by the journalists who were
briefed by Ms. Keka Ferdousi, an eminent cooking personality, one of
the members of Jury Committee and conductor of the cooking
competition. Regional Manager of MPOC A.K.M. Fakhrul Alam, other two
members of Jury Committee Tonny khan, Chief Chef of the Westin
Hotel, Dhaka and ATM Ahmed,
Executive Chef of Ocean Paradise Hotel and Resort spoke on the
occasion. The press conference was widely covered by print and
electronic media.
