The final event and award giving ceremony of Monitor - Malaysian
Palm Oil Chef of the Year – 2009 competition was held on February
04, 2010 at the Winter Garden of Dhaka Sheraton Hotel. The
Bangladesh Monitor, the premier fortnightly travel journal of the
country and event management organization was the Lead Organizer of
the programme while Malaysian Palm Oil Council was the Title Sponsor
for the third time, Emirates Airline was the Premium Partner and
Channel I, a leading satellite TV Channel of the country was the
media partner.
The programme was organized with an objective to promote and
popularize the varied, tantalizing Bangladeshi cuisines and to
expose the culinary skills of housewives and professional chefs of
the country. MPOC joined the programme with the same view and to
promote Malaysian Palm Oil and to increase awareness about palm oil
among the housewives so that use of palm oil in local cuisines is
further increased.
Ten selected contestants cooked their recipes in presence of the
Jury Committee and invited guests. The jury committee was headed by
eminent nutritionist and culinary expert of the country Siddiqua
Kabir.
Hon’ble Minister for Civil Aviation & Tourism Mr. Ghulam Muhammed
Quader M.P. was the Chief Guest while the H.E. Malaysian High
Commissioner in Bangladesh Mr. Jamaluddin Sabeh was the Special
Guest at the final event. The winners of the competition were
awarded with cash award, air tickets and a host of attractive prizes
besides citation awards. |
