The final event and award giving ceremony of Monitor - Malaysian
Palm Oil Chef of the Year – 2008 competition was held on Jan 24,
2009 at the Winter Garden of Dhaka Sheraton Hotel. The Bangladesh
Monitor, who had been organizing the competition for last four
years, was the Lead Organizer of the programme while Malaysian Palm
Oil Council was the Title Sponsor for the second time and Emirates
Airline was the Premium Partner.
Mousumi Amin and Selina Mustafa both from Dhaka were adjudged
“Monitor-Malaysian Palm Oil Chef of the Year – 2008” respectively in
amateur and professional category while Nafiz Islam Lipi and Farida
Parvin Maya were the first runners up and Kumrun Nahar and Sharia
Atique Sumi were the second runners up in amateur and professional
category respectively.
Five contestants from the amateur category and five from
professional category were selected for the final competition who
cooked their recipes in presence of the Jury Committee and invited
guests. The jury committee was headed by eminent nutritionist and
culinary expert of the country Siddiqua Kabir.
Hon’ble
Minister for Post and Telecommunications Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju, MP
was present in final event and award giving ceremony as the Chief
Guest while Chief of Army Staff General Moin U Ahmed was the Special
Guest. Dr. Kalyana Sundram, Deputy Chief Executive Officer,
Malaysian Palm Oil Council, Malaysia was present on the occasion as
Guest of Honour.
